    Acolytes   Go Back

The Acolyte ministry is a youth activity practiced in most churches; however, St. Paul's was one of the first parishes in our diocese to have youth serve as acolytes. Being an acolyte allows our young people to serve their Lord at his altar, assist the clergy, and learn about the church service simultaneously. Open to all youth who are in sixth grade through twelfth grade, members are assigned dates on which they serve.

Acolytes serve at the Sunday services, Festival occasions, and other special services. Occasionally acolytes serve at weddings and funerals. Enlisting as an acolyte is an excellent way to serve our church and our Lord. Contact Father Weller at (517) 482-9454 if you are interested in becoming an acolyte.

Chalice bearers are licensed by the Bishop to serve the wine. They may also read the scriptures.

    Stephen Ministry   Go Back

Stephen Ministers provide a caring ministry to members of the congregation who may be experiencing a need for Christian support and caring.

    Ushers   Go Back

Ushers serve St. Paul's by seating worshippers, providing them with bulletins, taking up the collection, and handling any problems that arise during the Sunday services. They also assist at special services, festivals, and funerals, as needed.

    Youth Ministry   Go Back

Youth Ministry at St. Paul's is holistic, based on the concept that in each area of their Christian lives, the young people can minister and be ministered to. In the area of study and growth, opportunity is provided for formal learning through Church School and Confirmation classes. The choir and acolyte programs guide young people in formal worship.
